Learn More About What We Do!

At The Physio Room, we aim to offer exceptional physical therapy. Our goal is to deliver quality care to those with orthopedic injuries and pre/post-operative needs. We support our clients in achieving their best results.
Prior to your first visit, reach out to our office via call, text, email, or by completing the contact form to see if our expertise is right for you. After speaking with our office manager and going over any financial responsibility, we will schedule an initial evaluation. Patient intake forms will be sent to your email. Please try to complete before your first visit so that we can review all of the information.
At your initial evaluation, your physical therapist will provide you your plan of care. We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and considering our practice for your physical therapy needs.

We know that there are many options available to you in our area. At The Physio Room, we do things differently here. There are no aides or assistants directing your care. There is no passing of the batton. We listen and hear you while we work together. We do not divide our attention amongst multiple patients at the same time. It is just you and your physical therapist one on one for 45-60 minutes. This provides ample time to put together a comprehensive plan of care to help you achieve your personal goals.
We truly believe that our model leads to greater patient satisfaction, faster recovery, and an overall higher level patient experience.

For all commercial insurance and cash pay patients, you do not need a doctor referral or prescription to start physical therapy. In New Jersey, you are granted direct access to physical therapy services.
For Medicare patients, a referral or prescription is not required for the initial evaluation. Following the initial evaluation, a plan of care must be sent to your physician and signed in order to continue with care.

At your initial evaluation, we ask that you please arrive 10 minutes early. Our office is located at 166 Fairview Avenue in Westwood, NJ. We are located in Suite F at the end of the parking lot. We share space with Pelvic Health and Awareness. There are two parking spots reserved for clients. If the parking spots are taken, there is a plenty of street parking and municipal lot located next to the building. Parking is 25 cents for an hour. We suggest putting in 50 cents to ensure you do not receive a ticket. We have quarters at the front desk if you need to pop in and grab some for parking.
Once you arrive, if your physical therapist is occupied, please make yourself comfortable in our waiting area. There is a restroom in the office.
During your initial evaluation, your physical therapist will have reviewed your intake paperwork and will further complete your history with further questions. They will then have you go through a body movement assessment consisting of range of motion, strength, special test, and movement pattern analysis. After all of the necessary information is obtained, your physical therapist will spend time with you discuss your plan of care. Most plans of care consist of 8-12 sessions over a duration of 2-3 months. This will vary based on your personal injury history and goals. We expect that there will also be hands on treatment consisting of soft tissue work, stretching, manual therapy, cupping, dry needling, and joint mobilization. You will also go over your home program so that you can get started with your recovery at home.
-
We ask that you wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing that will provide your physical therapist access to the body part that is affected. We suggest exercise attire and sneakers.
If you are a runner or athlete, we ask you bring in your footwear as wear and tear of your footwear can help with understanding your body and movement patterns.

Yes, insurance covers physical therapy services provided physical therapists. Every insurance plan is different. Prior to starting physical therapy with us, our Office Manager will ask for your insurance information and will reach out to your insurance carrier as a courtesy to verify benefits. Prior to coming in for your initial evaluation, we will provide you with information regarding any out of pocket cost to you. We do not like surprises and want you to know what to expect and what you are commiting to.
The large majority of our patients have insurance coverage through Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, UMR, and Humana.
If you do not see your insurance carrier listed, we encourage you to reach out to our office and we are happy to verify your benefits prior to starting care.

We accept payment from your insurance carrier when possible. Payments that are made towards a copay, deductible, or coinsurance can be in the form of cash, check, FSA/HSA cards or credit and debit cards.
